Our Mission
At the Oncology Care Organization, our mission is very specific. We want to provide support services for cancer patients by working in three key areas:
1. To provide chemotherapy patients with free wigs through our Free Wigs Network Program. *
2. To provide cancer patients with available valuable resources where they can learn more about cancer. **
3. To provide cancer patients who have been impacted with a mastectomy or lumpectomy, with prosthetics depending on their needs. ***
* The Free Wigs Network Program is the main focus and vision of the Oncology Care Organization. This program was established to provide chemotherapy patients with REAL hair wigs as many women who go through chemotherapy have a financial hardship purchasing one. Real hair wigs offer chemotherapy patients the ability to feel more realistic, as these wigs can be treated as one’s natural hair. Women feel more positively supported, and it may lead to less stressful lifestyle, as patients continue their chemotherapy treatments.
** Providing valuable informational resources for cancer patients and their families is also an important goal for the Oncology Care Organization. We believe that providing informational resources, better educates patients and family members. The more knowledge one has about cancer and the treatment regimen, they will be more comfortable knowing what to expect. This can also have a positive impact on their treatment and recovery.
*** Although the main focus and vision of the Oncology Care Organization is the Free Wigs Network Program, we want to extend our support to women who have been impacted by a mastectomy or a lumpectomy. Several insurance companies do not cover prosthetics and we would like to extend our support in that area and provide women who have undergone such a procedure, with the feeling and knowing that we are their to support them. Cancer is already on their minds, and other things should not be. We at Oncology Care want to help and provide support in any way we can.
